Baby Boy Bedding Themes
After months of waiting you're finally going to be bringing your new little man home and dive into the process of creating a nice little haven for him. If you're like most people you probably bought the cot months ago in anticipation.
Now you only need to choose the theme for your baby boy's bedding sets. Have a look around your room; what's the theme and color scheme you have chosen? There are literally hundreds of color schemes and designs to choose from. Light blue is always a popular choice in bedding for baby boys but some people also like to go with greens and browns or navy and orange for something unique.
Being practical is a key ingredient for choosing bed sheets so make a list of what you need. Most nurseries will need most if not all of the following list:
* 4 x Mattress protectors
* 4 x cotton sheet sets (a minimum of 2 is definitely required)
* 4 x flannelette sheet sets (a minimum of 2 is definitely required)
* 4 x lightweight blankets
* 4 x winter blankets or cot quilts
An essential part of a baby boy's bedding is the mattress protector. You can get them in two types; the flat ones that lay on top of the mattress or the fitted sheet versions. The flat on top mattress protectors can be a little cheaper, but they can make it difficult to get the bottom fitted sheet on as they can move when you move the sheet.
The particular fitted mattress protector that I prefer has a towelling top and a synthetic bottom. It made it easier to change the mattress, which I found the best way for me, being short and not able to reach the far side of the cot even with the side down, was to pick up the mattress and stand it on one end, dress it that way and then lay it back down. This was why, when choosing the mattress for the cot, I went for a light weight one which was easy to pick up. This is most helpful in the earlier months just after having given birth when you're still recovering.
